The Lockheed Martin IMAX at the National Air & Space Museum
The Lockheed Martin IMAX® Theater allows visitors to explore the skies and space without ever leaving the ground with a screen that is five stories high and features six channel digital surround sound. The Lockheed Martin IMAX® Theater provides you with the ability to explore both natural and manmade wonders of the world. From your seat, you'll explore the world from a different point of view. The theater is located in the National Mall building in Washington DC. The theater features three different films that rotate, but include shows such as "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag," "To Fly!," "Roving Mars," "Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D," and "3D Sun."
The Lockheed Martin IMAX® Theater is located in the National Mall. The National Mall itself features hundreds of air and space artifacts and exhibits. These include the Wright 1903 Flyer, the Spirit of St. Louis and the Apollo 11 command module Columbia. You also have the opportunity to touch a lunar rock sample. Throughout the museum, you'll find 22 exhibition galleries that include exciting flight simulators, a three-level shop, and free educational programs. There are dozens of exhibits related to air and space travel. The museum allows a close-up view of the 1903 Wright Flyer and hundreds of other related artifacts.
