As part of the celebration during the Black Music Month,
Six Flags America in Washington DC hosts the June Jam Music festival where you can enjoy various genres of soul, funk, jazz, blues, and Motown. Slated to happen on the June 21st this year, the June Jam festival this year will hold performances by various artists such as Colors Splatt Blues Orchestra and the Kelly Bell Band, which are guaranteed to leave you spellbound. Held on the first day of summer, the Festival sweeps you off on to a magical journey through the history of America's blues music and strikes at the roots celebrating the evolution of music from New Orleans to Chicago all the way to Maryland. Power packed performances stimulate your musical ear leaving you jiving and grooving to the beat.
Tickets are offered at discounted rates for the festival and include other attraction such as admission to the Hurricane Harbor water park. Here families can lose themselves in the cool Caribbean current and enjoy thrilling roller coaster rides on 8 gravity defying roller coasters in between performances. The concert begins at 4PM and goes on till well after sunset thus, guaranteeing a fun filled and musical evening for the entire family. The event is brought to you by Prince George's County Arts Council and The Colours Program.
