If you enjoy Latin and Spanish music, you might want to check your calendar. If you are free near the end of July, you can head on down to Verano Zol at
Six Flags America in Washington DC. This concert event is a general celebration of Hispanic and Latino music at the amusement park. The sponsors include the Spanish language radio station, El Zol 99.1. It is the first radio station in Maryland to serve the needs of Hispanic speaking people.
The music you can expect to hear that afternoon will range from traditional rumbas to less conventional sounds. The line-up of musical performers varies, but it will be the hottest and coolest Hispanic music around town. It all takes place in the Gotham Arena on the grounds of
Six Flags America. Arrive early and enjoy whatever else the park can give you.
The
Six Flags America is an amusement park geared towards the entire family. You can have fun all day long. Enjoy the splash park. Six Flags' Hurricane Harbor guarantees lots of splashing for children of all ages as they slip and slide down waterslides. There are plenty of ways to cool off, including the Bamboo Chute, the Paradise Plunge and the daring Tony Hawk's Halfpipe.
Before or after the concerts, you can take your family on the rides. Little tykes and adults have a choice of mild to wild rides. Take the tots "Around the World in 80 Days" while older ones try the moderate Cyclone or the intense Tornado or Tower of Doom. Afterwards, if you are hungry, try out the various snacks at the food court or sit down at a restaurant for a full meal. There is always lots to do at
Six Flags America, including such special and related events as Festival Latino.
