Morven Park Equestrian Center is a well respected equestrian facility in the notably popular Morven Park. The equestrian center was built in 1967. It was used as a teaching facility that provided quality instruction that was in high demand since the closing of the US Army Calvary Schools. The school closed in 1991, but the center still provides training and educational services. The main focus of the center today is that of an events center where many different equestrian activities are featured on a regular basis. The center features over one thousand acres and both indoor and outdoor arenas. It also has the well known steeplechase course, carriage obstacles and numerous cross country courses. The center provides permanent housing for 150 horses with sixteen available temporary housing stalls. Throughout the year the center sponsors numerous events including horse trials and a 3 day event. The equestrian center is well kept and maintenanced with a dedicated staff. The center relies heavily upon volunteer efforts and sponsorships from community members. Morven Park is a very busy place that is home to various other attractions including the Historic Mansion, Museum of Hounds and Hunting and Winmill Carriage Museum.
