If you're looking to decide what to visit among the numerous attractions in the Washington DC area, head over to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. This landmark building, which measures about 3.1 million square feet and constitutes the largest building in the nation's capital, is a multipurpose space, mainly dedicated to international trade related business. This is the only federal building that houses both governmental and private functions and entering it, through its glass and steel rotunda and 125-foot-tall dome, is quite an experience.
It also houses the DC Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Center. The excellent conference and exhibit space contained here is perfect for meetings, conferences, or even weddings. There are two ballrooms, 15 meeting rooms of varying size, and a large amphitheater with 625 seats and state-of-the-art technology. Wi-Fi is available in most, if not all, spaces. The International Trade Center, instead, is Washington DC's official World Trade Center. This is essentially a consulting organization that supports international businesses and it has its headquarters in this particular building.
The building also serves as the permanent theater for the Capitol Steps, a comedy troupe that performs live political satire on a regular basis. Check out the website for their schedule. Finally, the outdoor Woodrow Wilson Plaza, which can hold around 3000 people, is the stage for summer concerts of a variety of music styles, ranging from Celtic folk songs to jazz violin, to hip-hop to African dance. As with the Capitol Steps, check the website for the concert schedule. To complete the picture, the building also offers a food court and the Aria Italian Restaurant.
